CIRCOSTANZA I – 28 NOVEMBER 2021

Stazione ostiense, 10-13:00

Circumstance n. 4, the first of the 2nd year of the project La Zattera, is dedicated to exploring places and evoking the memories of the Afghan and Kurdish communities around the Ostiense station.

Ostiense has been a place of international reference for Afghan refugees for many years, including many minors in transit to Rome, who in thousands have lived along track 15 from where the trains for Ventimiglia departed, but also of the Kurds who in 1999 established themselves in the former slaughterhouse. The history of migrations in Ostiense is also made with important artistic, cultural and social experiences, some still alive while others now disappeared – stories of art, culture and civil commitment not to be forgotten, and important archives such as that of the Global Village.

The circumstance n. 4 is a proposal by Stalker togheter with the Nomadic Urbanism School in collaboration with AMM (Archive of migrant memories), Ararat – Kurdish socio-cultural center, Global Village Archive, Track 15, Circolo Gianni Bosio, Circolo Scandinavo in Rome (with the support of Kulturkontakt Nord), Hazara Community in Rome and NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arte) Public Art Course.
